Diode Laser Centerline Localizer and
Diode Laser Glideslope Indicator

The Diode Laser Centerline Localizer (DLCL) and Diode Laser Glideslope (DLGI) are lightweight, portable, and tripod mounted guidance systems designed for precise visual guidance to landing zones. Each is powered by a rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride battery that provides the systems with over 40 hours of operating time between recharging. The systems can be turned on remotely using the digital radio transmitter provided with the system, or turned on and off manually. Each device provides precise guidance that is visible to the unaided eye at ranges out to 10 nautical miles. The red diode lasers are night vision goggle compatible for NVG operations. These tripod-mounted systems can be operational within minutes of taking the LZ and in combination with the LZ edge lights provide a complete LZ lighting system for tactical military night operations.

Landing Zone Edgelight

The LZ Edgelight provides a multi-mode landing zone light witch can be operated in 5 different modes. The visible mode provides efficient and crisp visible light using an array of visible LED’s. The NVG mode uses a similar near infrared series of LED’s to provide effective LZ lighting visible only to NVG equipped pilots. This provides for an otherwise dark LZ. In FLIR mode, the solid-state far infrared emitter pad can be seen by FLIR equipped aircraft. The other two modes provide an NVG + FLIR LZ lighting system, or an all lights option. When used in visible or NVG mode the internal rechargeable battery will provide for 40 hours of operation. When used in the FLIR mode, eight hours of operation will result. These lights can be turned on manually, or using the digital radio provided with the system. Each light weights approximately 4 lbs.
